What is Enneagram?
“The Enneagram (pronounced ANY-a-gram) is simply a nine sided figure that maps out the nine fundamental personality types of human nature and their complex interrelationships.” - The Wisdom of the Enneagram, Riso & Hudson. The breakdown of the word, Enneagram is from greek origins meaning, Ennea: nine, Gram: figure, basically, a nine pointed/sided figure.
The enneagram is about self knowledge, the more we know of ourselves the more we know of others, i.e. marriage, friendships, faith and business. Any time you find yourself in relationship, including the one you have with yourself the tool that is the enneagram will help. Thomas Merton said “what can we gain by sailing to the moon if we are not able to cross the abyss that separates us from ourselves?” The enneagram helps cross that gap.
